I have a confession to make.

I’m a recovering intellectual.

Before I escaped from cubicle nation, I thought that accumulating degrees and certificates was the way to succeed.

You see, I’m the son of first generation migrants to the UK, who didn’t want to see their son struggle like they did, who thought that job security and salary were directly proportional to the number of letters I had after my name.

When I was 11 years old I told my mother that I wanted to become an actor. Her reply was, "That’s fine son, but just remember that actor is spelled d-o-c-t-o-r."

It was only when I stopped trying to be who I thought people wanted me to be, that I found financial success and fulfilment.

Charlie Chaplin once said, "We think too much and feel too little. Rather than more cleverness, we need more authenticity, empathy and action if we’re to smile longer and more often."

If you’re not getting the results you want, there’s one thing that there’s not enough of in your life: you.

Be the real you because replicas aren’t worth as much.

Humour

Lino Richie:

  1. Of all the possible utensils to eat rice with how did 2 sticks win?
  2. Relationships are a lot like algebra, ever looked at your X and wondered Y?
  3. Sometimes Autocorrect can be your worst enema.
  4. If you watch Jaws backwards, it’s about a shark who throws up so many people, that they need to open a beach.
