Let me ask you a question. Can you name the second man on the moon?

I suspect most people reading this article can name the first man on the moon, Neil Armstrong, but not the second, Buzz Aldrin.

In 1969, being first was usually enough to get noticed. Over 40 years later in the attention economy, being first or the best isn’t always enough if nobody notices or cares.

As the man who coined the term the attention economy Seth Godin says, "A falling tree in an empty forest makes no noise."

We Humans were born to stand out, not blend in.

Whether it’s your personal brand or your corporate brand, you’re either, as neurobranding guru Dave Newton would say, "Distinct or Extinct."

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle – Albert Einstein
