I use the following simple, but effective caption, with some of my coaching clients when they’re faced with a challenge:

One of whom has it stuck next to his pc and one who has it pinned to a plant in his front porch. Both have found it very useful when responding to a difficult colleague, and a spouse who has a tendency to vent the frustrations of her day as soon as her husband enters the front door!

In essence,

  1. Be aware of your emotion, control your emotion and respond rather than react to get the outcome you want.
  2. Be flexible and think about how you can reframe the situation and identify an alternative, more favourable solution.
  3. If you’re with someone who is toxic and draining you of energy then hit delete and remove yourself from that situation.

If you want some help to get more of what you want, more easily, with less stress then let me know. A word of caution though: I don’t do tea and sympathy. I’ll challenge you and ask you questions which you haven’t or don’t want to ask of yourself.

To your success,

Sunil
