The promise of a happy ending…..
by Sunil Bali, Chief Energy Officer, 09-10-11
Last week was my birthday. My mailbox was full of 50th minus 1 messages – thanks! My wife gave me a typically irreverent and humorous card, but inside she had written the words
"you are my happy ending".
What I like about our relationship is that it’s uncomplicated.
Maybe that’s because I’m simple. I love simplicity and abhor clutter and complexity, because it drains me of energy.
Sure we have our moments, but there is lots of:
- Laughter
- Listening
- Learning
- Loyalty &
- Love
Our relationship is simple. I’ve found that when you have this sort of simplicity in your life it centres and energises you.
As design guru Professor John Maedam says, "Simplicity is about extracting the obvious and adding the meaningful. Once you do that, life becomes simple."
And no one individual has ever done this better, than the genius we so sadly lost this week, Steve Jobs: How to live before you die .
Given my previous failed marriage, my mother viewed my wife with considerable suspicion, when first they met. Was this over qualified GP really marriage material? Could this woman create a happy home for her son?
Well this is the woman, who on the day of our engagement, made many promises, and has kept every one.
